Apache License 2.0

Everything IndieK publishes is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0:

the IndieK archive format specification (SPEC.md) and its test vectors;
the indiek Python package — the SDK and the ik command-line tool;
this website and its content.

In short, the Apache License 2.0 lets you use, copy, modify and distribute the software, the specification and the documentation, in open or closed projects, for any purpose, provided you keep the copyright and license notices and state significant changes. It includes an explicit patent grant from contributors and comes without warranty. What this means for archives

The license covers the specification, the software and the documentation, not your data. The archives you create with IndieK are yours: their content is under whatever terms you choose. Anyone may write software that reads or writes IndieK archives by following the specification.
